When you hear the term “social learning,” what first comes to mind? How about in a virtual-learning world?

Are you an expert in the field, readily using virtual social learning to your finest advantage? Are you wondering, “What the heck does ‘social learning’ REALLY mean?” or “How can we best incorporate this in our current practice?”

If social learning is on your radar in any way (and trust us, it IS whether you realize it or not!), this session is for YOU!

Now, more than ever, leveraging a virtual learning practice is critical for success. Understand how social learning continues (and even thrives) in the virtual world, achieving real results every time.

In this engaging and interactive, virtual learning experience, fellow ATD-ers from the Dallas Chapter will share some critical aspects of social learning in a virtual environment, including some best practices raising impact, retention, and effectiveness.

In this session, participants will:

  • Learn how and why social learning works, including the science behind it
  • Discover the four steps of social learning and how they can be readily leveraged with current programs
  • Understand why companies are intentionally capitalizing on social learning, and how technology supports their success
  • Share and receive best practices, leaving with an experiment in-hand, to try in their organization(s)

Todd Strosnider


For over 20 years, Todd has focused his career on developing leaders and teams through innovative programs, tools and technologies. His early career focused on supporting and educating new supervisors to combat turnover and increase engagement. He has since built and led teams responsible for executing the learning and development strategy for over 10,000 employees. Todd’s extensive experience as a talent development leader has allowed him to become an expert in leveraging technology to enable learning designed to maximize business results. In 2017, Todd started his own consultancy, STROJO, specializing in learning strategy and implementing the Degreed Learning Experience Platform (LXP) for clients looking to transform their learning culture.
